A package

My Granny is such a lovely lady and takes the time to send me holiday packages. I love her surprises and what she comes up with :) Ever since before I left college I told her Kit Kats were my favorite candy. Every package sent to me in college since that day has been filled with some type of Kit Kat.

Thank you Granny and Grandpa!

Transformation: Home edition

Before you view these photos, I want you to imagine yourself with two jobs, 16 credits, barely any time to spend with your husband, and you are graduating in a week. Alright, now you may continue.

Welcome to our home! Here are before/after pictures of the cleaning we have been doing this weekend. Pretty amazing transformation! That is why I am posting this Monday instead of Tuesday :)

Our home is pretty cute when we take care of it. I'm in the process of getting rid of a LOT of things... just can't find the time to sell them, so hopefully we will take them to D.I. this week.
It's a big week!

NO more Sundays
3 more school days
5 more days until graduation!!

WOW.

I'm Graduating Because...

This post has been on my mind for about a year. I am slowly realizing the fact that I will be done with my education and it's because of every little detail that went into my classes. Graduation is a bitter/sweet process. I don't feel ready, but at the same time I have learned so much and am ready to face what's next.

I'm Graduating Because...
  • I took those tests in the testing center with only scratch paper to use.
  • I walked to every class in the sun, rain and snow.
  • I sent that e-mail.
  • I completed my non-paid internship.
  • I stayed until the library closed to finish those assignments.
  • I stayed until the Spori computer lab closed to finish those assignments.
  • I studied.
  • I worked.
  • I prayed for help.
  • I managed my time.
  • I helped those students with their assignments.
  • I grew in understanding.
  • I cried.
  • I watched tutorials online.
  • I did a grad plan.
  • I took 17 credits and worked one job in a semester.
  • I took 16 credits and worked two jobs in my final semester.
  • I stayed up late.
  • I pulled a handful of all-nighters.
  • I procrastinated.
  • I worked ahead.
  • I passed with a C+ in American Foundations.
  • I went to the tutor.
  • I printed countless posters/brochures/portfolios.
  • I got up instead of sleeping in.
  • I sacrificed many showers/pretty hair styles/makeup days to get to class on time.
  • I switched my major twice until I felt good about my decision.
  • I met with an academic advisor. many times.
  • I rented the school's camera equipment.
  • I met new people that I will always remember.
  • I learned.

"By small and simple means, great things are brought to pass."
Today is a happy day.

Christmas Cat Video

It's 4:25 a.m. on December 11th, 2014. I'm SO close to being done with school, but these little projects stand in my way. This is probably the second time this semester I've had to stay up this late to finish something.

Good thing my class is at 10:15!

Special thanks to Charity and Jordan, my awesome neighbors, to allow me to film their cat, Elsa! :)
Happy Thursday!

Transformation Tuesday: New Haircut!

I went for it. Since the summer, I was torn between the idea of letting my hair grow out for graduation or chopping it. I personally feel I look better in shorter hair, but lately my hair has taken so much time to grow out. So that's why I kept it long. But one day I just went for it!

It feels a lot better and I have actually worn it down more than I've ever really worn long hair down.

10 DAYS UNTIL GRADUATION (with my new haircut)!
1 MORE SUNDAY
9 DAYS UNTIL MY FAMILY COMES

woah... and 16 days until Christmas?! I haven't really thought about anything besides school ending...

Throwback Wednesday

Sweet Tooth

Just hanging out in the holiday candy isle with Kent.
Are all husbands born with a sweet tooth? Or is it just mine? Almost every time we go to the store Kent insists we "need a snack". Maybe that's why someone had a root canal this year?? Kent. Let's not do that again.

Lately we have been obsessing over Studio C. When they first started putting up videos I thought to myself, "okay, this is a little too cheesy..." But ever since their Hunger Games Videos, I've been a true fan. I even had a dream that the whole cast moved into my apartment complex thing and we were all friends. It's true.

The magic numbers today are:
16 days until graduation
15 days until I see my family
14 days until the last day of school ever
10 more school days
and 2 more Sundays!

Paper Chain Countdown

First of all, can we talk about this stocking set up?! I found a good use for the plant wall holder during the winter months - a stocking holder! Since there are only two of us, I needed a center peice and found the red bush thing at Joann's for $1.75! I'm obsessed. It's the only other holiday decorating I do besides the tree. I bought the stockings half off at Target last year so together they were a total of $20. Pricey, but they are so cute.

Lauren, my fabulous friend, gave me the idea to create a paper chain for the days until GRADUATION! (Don't look too closely at the paper chain, I wasn't paying attention to the paper widths - ha).Remember when I was so obsessed with graduation about 380 days ago? I had a running tally on the days left until Graduation on the side of my blog. NOW THAT NUMBER IS UNDER THE 20'S. Holy Cow - Where did the time go?! It doesn't feel real yet, but I'm sure it will once those little papers start coming off.

So happy about this!
